IsDB-BISEW Scholarship Selection Process
Submitting an application does not automatically guarantee a scholarship. Candidates who meet the eligibility requirements may be shortlisted for the next stages of the selection process.
The official FAQ explains that candidates go through screening processes that may include an Aptitude Test and interview. The aptitude test is conducted in MCQ format and contains Quantitative questions in Bangla and an English section. Rather than using a conventional pass/fail mark, the programme uses a percentile ranking system for selection.
In general, the process can be understood as follows:
- Online application.
- Payment of the application fee.
- Admit card download.
- Shortlisting of eligible candidates.
- Aptitude/selection test.
- Interview or further screening where required.
- Final selection.
- Admission to the assigned IT training course.
IsDB-BISEW Aptitude Test
The aptitude test is an important part of the candidate selection process. The official FAQ says that the test is designed to assess basic educational ability and is conducted through multiple-choice questions. It includes two main sections: Quantitative in Bangla and English.
Candidates preparing for the test should therefore revise basic mathematical concepts and English language skills. Since the programme uses percentile ranking instead of a fixed pass mark, candidates should aim for the strongest possible performance rather than preparing only to achieve a minimum score.
Is Previous Computer Knowledge Required?
A common question among applicants is whether they need previous computer training to apply for the IsDB-BISEW IT Scholarship. The answer is no. The official FAQ specifically states that candidates without prior computing knowledge can apply for the scholarship.
This makes the programme particularly attractive to graduates from non-IT academic backgrounds who want to move into the technology sector. However, applicants should have a genuine interest in learning IT because the training is intensive and designed to develop professional-level skills.
Where Will the IsDB-BISEW Training Be Held?
The programme has historically conducted training in Dhaka and Chattogram through selected training service providers. However, for the current Round 74, the official online application system clearly states that all courses will be conducted in Dhaka only.
Training may be delivered through in-person classes at the training provider’s premises or, where applicable, through online classes. The programme FAQ lists two general training slots: 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM or 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
IsDB-BISEW IT Scholarship and Job Placement
Another important advantage of the programme is its focus on employment. The IsDB-BISEW programme maintains a Placement Cell that works with employers and assists graduates in accessing job opportunities. The programme also operates a dedicated web-based job platform called CareerHub for IsDB-BISEW graduates.
The official programme website reports a strong employment outcome among its graduates, demonstrating that the scholarship is designed not simply to provide classroom training but also to improve participants’ employability in the IT sector.
